The Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to our members. They must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities and posses a general understanding of body treatments. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our members. Must hold and maintain a current state license.

Spa Treatment Supervisor Position

WTS International 

Position: Treatment Manager

Job Summary:
The Treatment Manager is responsible for providing administrative and operational assistance as well as staff supervision, development and training to the spa.

Reports To:

The Treatment Manager reports directly to the Spa Director and/or Assistant Spa Director.



Essential Job Duties:
• Ensures the “WTS International Experience” for guests by maintaining the standards set in WTS International Basics to Excellence (BTE), WTS International Mission Statement/Values; Standards and Expectations, and WTS International Brand Standards.
• Adheres to policies of WTS International.
• Maintains a fully staffed department by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and scheduling service providers. Develops a team of service providers to meet all aspects of professionalism and service demands. Support the associate hiring process including hands on interviews, reference checks, phone screening, etc. Set up training for new employees to cover product, services, orientation, computer, and customer service standards.
• Submits all paperwork and financial reporting, including payroll and new hire paperwork, in accordance with WTS policy.
• Responsibility for scheduling all service providers and ensuring sufficient staff coverage during operational hours.
• Responsible for end of month manual inventory of product.
• Responsible for preparing department orders in alignmnet with budget and actual sales.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards including all spa treatment rooms, dispensary, and salon (if applicable). Ensures all equipment and rooms are stocked on a daily basis.
• Provides on-going training to staff members in product use, techniques, and service standards. Ensure all service providers understand products and services as well as common daily practices. Test staff for quality of service and standards of excellence.
• Set up continuing education for all staff with vendors/trainers on a bi-monthly basis.
• Update standard operating procedures as needed. Creates operating procedures for daily activities as needed to maintain quality standards within the spa.
• Assists management with the set up and execution of special events and  promotions.
• Ensures appropriate department and/or facility supervisory coverage through use of a Manager on Duty (MOD) system and participates in the MOD schedule.
• Responsible for setting and reviewing both revenue and service goals with their team members. Conducts financial performance conferences quarterly with employees.
• Coaches employees with positive reinforcement and counsels when there are performance deficiencies.  Applies discipline fairly and consistently. Participates in writing and giving feedback to employees during the annual performance review.
• Helps to create new menu services as needed
• Remain current on staff certifications and professional requirements.
• Meets the needs of the guest at all times throughout the service. Assists staff members in providing a memorable guest experience.
• Understands and uses universal precautions when teaching or providing services.
• Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa service presently offered. Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests. Answers guest’s questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
• Works assigned schedule and arrives and departs from their shift on time.
• Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
• Creates and maintains client cards and treatment notes, when appropriate.
• Attends all scheduled meetings.
• Attends scheduled professional trainings.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Previous experience as a massage therapist, esthetician or nail technician.
• Valid state license or other credentials as required by the state.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
• Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
• Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
• Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Strong team player. Ability to promote cooperation within department and spa
• Ability to use SpaBiz or other spa software for inventory control and moving appointments.
• Must be comfortable with product recommendation


Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. Prefer an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in business, physiology, hospitality or other related fields.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsibility for managing the service providers and oversight over all staff members when Manager on Duty.

Assistant General Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the spa and salon to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.  Performs functions associated with payroll, benefits, scheduling, recruitment, and administrative functions including cash reconciliation, banking and inventory.  Ensures the staff provides the highest level of guest service in strict accordance to service standards.

Guest Service Manager and Spa Attendants

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in managing the day-to-day activities of the spa to ensure all operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Assist in reviewing and preparing weekly work schedules and approving service schedule changes and requests for time off to ensure adequate coverage.
Conduct sales audits, monitor sales data, and prepare bank deposits.
Perform opening and closing duties as needed, following established procedures.
Oversee salon standards, conduct daily walk-through and initiate maintenance/repairs as needed.
Initiate orders for housekeeping supplies.
Manage supply order inventory process to ensure department leads are using the Stock Control Book, placing orders in a timely manner within budget, and maintaining a 60 days of supply stock on hand.  Works with GSR/Inventory Clerk to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Responsible for overall sales budget of the location, as well as working to manage the controllable expenses to achieve the budgeted sales objectives.
Work with corporate Supply Chain, Warehouse and Inventory Control departments on resolving inventory issues, investigating inventory losses and ensuring that inventory management procedures are being followed to reduce theft.
Assist in coordinating promotional events and technical and product training sessions.
Recruit, train and develop qualified employees to staff positions at the salon and spa.
Effectively communicate job responsibilities, performance expectations, guest service standards, and company policies/guidelines; provide counsel as necessary to correct behaviors.
Maintain a positive employee relations climate, responding to employee-related issues promptly, fairly and consistently.
Provide input in the preparation of effective performance reviews for various staff members.
Develop and motivate staff, maintain cooperation/teamwork within the department, delegate tasks productively.
Review and prepare payroll information and forward to Payroll department for processing.
Handle internal payroll-related questions and act as liaison between employees and Payroll department.
Educate staff on Company benefits and complete associated administrative activities.
Document work-related injuries and report to insurance carrier within required deadline.  Maintain files of worker’s compensation injury reports and customer liability incidents.
Perform various administrative functions and complete management reports accurately and timely.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
§  2+ years management experience in a fast-paced spa/salon, beauty or service environment.
§  College-level or business-related course work.
§  Highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently with little or no direction.
§  Proven analytical and decision-making skills, able to handle critical situations utilizing good judgment.
§  Team player with strong leadership and supervisory skills, to effectively work with and manage diverse personalities.
§  Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
§  Detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills.
§  Working knowledge of computers and standard software.
§  Retail and product knowledge, with experience in developing promotional strategies.
§  Time management skills, with ability to handle multiple priorities and constant deadlines.
§  Flexible and available to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
